An Essential Element to Great Pond Design!
The skimmer unit acts as a pump housing while performing three different tasks: it skims leaves & surface debris, acts as a mechanical filter unit, and has a pre-filter/settling chamber. Debris is collected in a reusable net that can be removed for disposal. The pump or pump inlet is protected from clogging by the tightly sealed mat (if the water level is lower in the pump chamber, it is a signal to clean the mat). The mat is easy to remove and this makes cleaning and maintenance a breeze. (Click Here for more details on Pondsweep Skimmers)
Here are just a few of the reasons you will want to build your pond with a PRO Skimmer:
* Skimmers clean your pond of dust and and debris All Season-Long
* They improve fish safety by moving the pump out of the pond and behind a vertical mat(s), held in place with a special mat holder
* They hide & protect the pump while simplifying pond plumbing
* The prevent plumbing leak from fully draining the pond
* Filter mats and debris nets are very easy to remove and service
* Skimmers are essential to prevent clogging of biological filters
* Pondsweep Skimmers are ideal to supply either gravity-fed or pressurized filters used in koi ponds
* They are easily hidden under decks while maintaining accessibility
All Pondsweep Skimmer models come standard with: one filter mat, mat holder, debris net, retention frame, bellows door weir and latch tab, silicone sealant, attachment hardware, and written instructions.
